i'm at peace now that it is autumn.

been doing a good amount of re-arranging and organizing lately —

deeply inspired by "Into Great Silence."  it's a documentary about daily life at the Grande Chartreuse, a monastery nestled deep in the French Alps.  i suggest watching this film slowly over the course of several days, little bits at a time, to keep your good focus.  it's absolutely stunning and mesmerizing. . .

  1. 'into great silence' is a film that i have watched over and over. it never fails to inspire me ~ the silence, the stillness, the peace and simplicity. maybe we were carthusians in a past life?

    1. gretchen, i certainly thought of you as i watched it! i knew if you were already familiar with it then you would feel the way you do about it, and if you hadn't heard of it then you needed to watch it as soon as possible. i just loved seeing the monks go about their assigned chores, the simple and raw beauty of the monastery, the gorgeous nature around them, seeing them sled and laugh together. . . i could go on and on forever!
