I've been wearing this bulky hand-knit sweater almost daily during the winter months for the past 3 years. I finally blew a hole through one of the elbows, and the other was close to following suit, so I mended them and reinforced them with knitted patches. Should be good for another 3 years or so .     .            .

    1. Wow, I'm surprised. Mine are even worsted weight so I expected them to last longer before needing mending just due to them being so thick. Maybe it's because my socks are 100% wool without any nylon. Then there's the fact that they get a lot of wear. Will have to do some experimenting with other yarn compositions over time. Whenever Fritz's socks do enviably wear down, you're welcome to send them to me with some yarn and I'll fix them up for you.

  3. that is a very kind offer! i suspect that the reason fritz's socks haven't worn out yet is because he saves them for special occasions :)
