yum. did you make these yourself? they look gorgeous as is but you're right; katsumi plates would really show them off. i have some very dark brown plates, maker unknown, that set food off beautifully.
yup, i do make these. i've tried to contact katsumi like three times and he has never responded, nor is there ever any progress on his 'web store'. very elusive potter indeed. a year or so ago i bought these two plates from cloud terre. you'll see why i was captivated by the photos.
they looked nothing like the photos and had air bubble pockets and pits all over the surface. they refunded me without any fight, luckily. our kitchen is so small that we can't own much more than our very practical, heavy weight white porcelain set as there is no room to store surplus dinnerwares. but i'd happily make room for two katsumi plates. :)
